Highlighting the critical importance of grid networks in future-proofing Britain’s energy resilience.

The Grid Networks All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) is a cross-party group of Members of Parliament. The Group will take evidence from leading experts in grid sustainability and resilience and consider the policy and legislative challenges relating to:

  • Power grid capacity in the UK – opportunities and challenges 
  • Investment in National Grid infrastructure 
  • Planning policy and the development of grid networks 
  • Emerging renewable energy systems, including Green Hydrogen 
  • The role of the public and private sector in power grid

    We will receive a presentation on the current planning challenges and solutions for delivering renewable energy projects. Our speakers are planning experts in the energy sector, Phil Pearson, Director of Energy, Renewables and Infrastructure at Savills and Dan Grierson, a practicing town planner in the low carbon energy sector.

    First full meeting of the APPG members with evidence from industry experts including a presentation for members by the Tony Blair Institute.

    Mary Glindon MP Chaired the inaugural meeting of the APPG on Grid Networks which took place on Wednesday 14th June.
